An all-in-one solution that delivers a 25% energy saving

PXV valve forms the heart of the Eliwell all-in-one system

By combining the new PXV electronic expansion valve, the V800 electronic expansion valve driver and the ID985/V electronic controller, Eliwell offers a modular solution for the creation of a comprehensive and high-efficiency system

The use of electronic expansion valves (EEV) in commercial and industrial refrigeration has paved the way to high-precision, stable and reliable control of refrigerant flow, resulting in increased system efficiency. Electronic expansion valves are controlled by a driver which regulates their opening, based on the level of performance required by the system and in response to all operating conditions. They ensure minimal overheating in the long term, which optimises the performance of the compressor unit and increases the benefits of floating condensation. Eliwell offers a comprehensive and flexible solution consisting of three components: the PXV electronic expansion valve, the V800 electronic expansion valve driver and the ID985/V electronic controller.

A winning combination for substantial energy savings
The synergy between the three components that make up the Eliwell system produces a substantial energy saving, which the company has measured in sales outlets at up to 25%. The enclosed chart illustrates the total power consumption, over a 24-hour period, of a supermarket* before and after installation of the V800 Electronic Expansion Valve Control System combined with the EWCM compressor rack controller. The green area indicates the 25% energy saving achieved using floating condensation.
The V800 driver is specifically devised to generate maximum energy savings and streamline the performance of retail refrigeration units. Furthermore it integrates with the ID985/V compact electronic controller, optimised for use in supermarket refrigeration systems, which assures the high-quality, safe storage of fresh and frozen food. This combined system keeps the refrigeration plant running at full efficiency, while at the same time helping to save power.

PXV, the heart of the compact solution
The new PXV solenoid expansion valve regulates the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator by modulating the opening time of its own obturator, allowing a wide range of power variation. Extremely precise and reliable control of refrigerant flow increases the efficiency of the entire system. Nine interchangeable orifices are available, with power ratings from 1 kW to 24 kW. This valve should be coupled to a coil controlled by a V800 electronic regulation device.

Further savings on system installation and activation times

Being extremely simple to set up and start, the Eliwell all-in-one system reduces installation and maintenance times:
• Simplified configuration of the V800 driver by selecting the type of application, making optimal control possible at all times without the need for future adjustments or calibration
• Compatibility with the new Device Manager software for quick parameter programming; this software is also designed to monitor and record the system variables in real time, simplifying the set-up of the system
• Quick configuration via dip-switches and LED display. Alternatively, an IWK/V terminal can be connected to obtain a complete user interface.
• Possibility to connect the Eliwell USB copy card on the front panel for quick device set-up

EEV control system features at a glance Compatibility with the main components available on the market • Flexibility for different application requirements • Customisable refrigerants table • Availability of a start-up kit for easy activation of the installation • Configuration of Software Device Manager for parameter set-up, real-time view and recording of operating data
